Groundwater reservoirs (PIG-PIB)

Major groundwater reservoirs (GZWP) from Polish Geological Institute data: 140 documented, 3 undocumented and 20 local reservoirs. Inside a reservoir protection area, where a voivode has established one, the regulation can prohibit investments that risk polluting the water, such as biogas plants, fuel depots or battery storage. A reservoir also means a large water intake is possible here, which matters for data centres, for example.
